The Barracudas grabbed a win, 3-2, at Old League Park, overcoming a fine effort from Antelope Valley pitcher Pepe Fabián. Fabián went 7 innings and allowed no earned runs. Brick reliever Tian-bai Chen picked up the win, upping his record to 13-7. Mauro Saucedo took the loss. Carlos Placeres earned save number 36.

António Venet, who is tied for 9th in the SDMB in hits with 167, aided the Brick cause with a 2-run single in the top of the ninth. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Venet.

Brick goes to 101-55. The win puts them 25 games up in their division.
