The Brooklyn Wolves picked up a win at Old League Park, knocking off the Mepkin Abbey Monks, 4-2. Starting pitcher Sherman Powers was an essential part of his team's success. Scott Egan notched his 16th save in 18 chances. The Wolves now own a record of 78-81.

The Wolves got a big at-bat from left fielder John Hunter. For the game, Hunter went 1-3 with a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 184th hit of the season gave Brooklyn a 3-2 lead.

Mepkin Abbey manager Alexander Innes said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
