| Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Nieto Thursday, June 1st, 2034 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Ramón Nieto did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Old League Park today. For the last 20 games in a row, the 28-year-old shortstop has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Brooklyn Wolves beat the Wilmington Atlantics 7-1 today.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Nieto told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Brooklyn clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Ramón Nieto flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Michael Russell in the 5th and walked in the 8th.
This year Nieto has hit at a .318 clip with 69 hits, 16 home runs, 51 RBIs and 33 runs scored. | |
