Great Day for Preston -- 5 Hits
A jubilant Martin Preston joined the postgame press conference at Golden Knights Stadium today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Des Moines HS Golden Knights pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Augusta-Richmond County HS Archers first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led the Archers to a 15-8 win.

"He made it look easy," said Víctor García, manager of the Golden Knights. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Martin Preston grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

For the season Preston is batting .533 with 49 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 29 times and batted in 33.
