Fans at Ballpark of Holyoke HS got to see not only a home-team victory today, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.

The Holyoke HS Challenge outplayed the Staten Island HS Explorers en route to a 19-12 win, but the standout was third baseman Brad Shannon. Shannon netted 5 hits in 6 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.

"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Explorers manager Takaaki Ohayashi said in his postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."

Brad Shannon singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th.

This season Shannon has 10 home runs and a .368 batting average.
