 | Monday, July 7th, 2014: Sternwheelers Hukill Suffers Injury River Cities fans will be disappointed to learn that John Hukill developed a damaged meniscus while colliding with a player at a base in today's game. After the doctor informed the River Cities Sternwheelers manager that Hukill was expected to miss 3 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the shortstop could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper. Hukill has collected 101 hits for the Sternwheelers this year, 26 of them home runs.
