Doug Abbott spun his magic in a 7-0 shutout victory, allowing 2 hits while totaling 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.
The Springfield pitcher put quite a spell on Caprica in a strong performance.
"I had a lot of good things working in this one," Abbott said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count."
So far this season Abbott has a 3-10 record with a 5.10 ERA. |
 | Monday, July 14th, 2014: Season Ends for Rocco Sorensen of Tisdale
Rocco Sorensen will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and stated the Tisdale reliever could miss the remainder of the year. Sorensen was injured while throwing a pitch in the Prarie Sox-Mammoths clash at Royals Ballpark recently. Doctors said he has bone chips in his elbow and would be out a minimum of 7-8 months.
This year Sorensen has made 30 relief appearances with 23 saves. In 30.1 innings, he has fanned 30 hitters and recorded 1 win and 1 loss with a 2.08 ERA. |

This week's Player of the Week was Travis Sparrow of the Kihei Keikis.
His big bat belted and blasted Sub League 2 pitching for 9 hits in 16 at-bats, no home runs and 4 RBIs while hitting .563 and scoring 8 runs.
In 91 games this year Sparrow has posted a .339 average and put up these numbers: 5 home runs, 45 RBIs and 46 runs scored. |
