The Atlanta Hurricanes did just enough to sneak past the Brick Barracudas, 3-2, at Old League Park. Atlanta pitcher Ismael Martínez earned player of the game honors. Martínez, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 1 walk. Patrick Beene got the save, the 7th for him this season.

The Hurricanes got a big at-bat from left fielder Louis King. For the game, King went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Atlanta a 3-2 lead.

"I was a little disappointed," said Brick manager Fred Goldfarb. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

Atlanta, now 11-17, is off to a slow start.
