|
Philadelphia starter Michael Leach pitched effectively against the Brick Barracudas at Old League Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. In 8 innings, Leach surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Anthony White got credit for the save for Philadelphia. It was his 9th of the year.
Philadelphia used the bat of Raúl Cuevas to capture the win. The catcher jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Hornets ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Leach told the Philadelphia Daily News.
The third-place Hornets have won 6 straight.
