Riverside HS's Simms Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.

John Simms of the Riverside HS Sandpipers had one such moment at Sandpipers Ballpark today, when he went 5 for 6 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Riverside HS fell to a 21-18 defeat to the Staten Island HS Explorers.

"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 15-year-old left fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."

John Simms singled in the 1st, singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th.

This season Simms is batting .354 with 29 hits, no home runs, 11 RBIs, .398 OBP and has scored 18 runs.
