Armadillos Lose to Raptors, 4-2
|
Antelope Valley starter Guillermo Romero had a strong outing against the Houston Armadillos at Old League Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Romero went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 2. His record improves to 6-6. Adrián Gutiérrez, credited with the save, is now 4 for 6 in save opportunities.
Dave O'Brien drove in one run for Antelope Valley. The 27-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off David Chapa. It was his 48th RBI of the season.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Romero.
The last-place Raptors are now 34-43, the Armadillos 39-38.
