Raptors Lose to Hurricanes, 2-1
|
Old League Park was the site of an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
The Atlanta Hurricanes picked up a win at Old League Park, knocking off the Antelope Valley Raptors, 2-1. Starting pitcher Miguel De La Torre was an essential part of his team's success. In 8 innings, De La Torre surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Raúl García got the save, the 1st for him this season.
It could have been a different outcome for Atlanta, had it not been for Jeremy Reed, the 33-year old left fielder . Reed contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Atlanta up, 1-0.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Reed told the Atlanta Herald.
The victory makes Atlanta 5-3.
