O'Brien Delivers Walk-Off Win for Raptors
|
The Antelope Valley Raptors faced a tough opponent in Appalachian pitcher François Morin, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Old League Park by a final score of 4-3. Morin went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The last-place Raptors now have a win-loss record of 36-47.
Antelope Valley won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Carlos Deleón on the mound for Appalachian, first baseman Dave O'Brien hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Raptors fans to their feet.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Appalachian skipper Jeff Fisher, "and it cost us."
