Chen, Philadelphia Open League Championship Strong with 2-1 Win
The League Championship got off to a quiet start today, with the host Philadelphia Hornets taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the Brick Barracudas. Philadelphia right-hander Tian-bai Chen was marvelous at Old League Park and was named player of the game. The Hornets now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Norman Kuhn, who won the Outstanding Batter Award in 2029, aided the Philadelphia cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the second baseman drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Chen said after the game.

The next game is set to be played on Thursday, September 25th, 2031 at Old League Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Joong-geun Yi for the Barracudas and Alejandro Báez for the Hornets.
