Armadillos Suffer 7-6 Loss to Brooklyn
|
The inspired effort of Houston catcher Joe Haith was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-6, to the Brooklyn Wolves. Haith was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Picking up the win was Sherman Powers. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. The left--hander struck out 7 and walked 2. Scott Egan converted his 21st save in 23 tries.
Júlio Zapata, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2025 draft, chipped in for Brooklyn with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Zapata.
The second-place Wolves lifted their record to 44-56.
