Hurricanes Nip Wolves, 2-1
|
The Hurricanes faced a stiff challenge from Brooklyn pitcher Kieran Rose, but persevered to claim a win at Old League Park. The final score was 2-1. Rose went 8 innings and allowed no earned runs. Patrick Beene converted his 18th save in 20 tries. Even with the win, the Hurricanes have a dismal 37-72 record.
The Hurricanes got a big at-bat from second baseman Jacob Beatty. For the game, Beatty went 1-3. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 89th hit of the season gave Atlanta a 2-1 lead.
"We found a way to get it done," Beatty said.
