Antelope Valley Beats Chicago, 5-2
|
The Antelope Valley Raptors bested the Chicago Reapers, 5-2, at Old League Park. Félix Salgado was one of the standouts. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. The winner was Antelope Valley reliever Richard Rainey, now 1-3. The loser was Gabriel Allison. Mauro Saucedo was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 13 save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Antelope Valley, had it not been for John Hamilton, the 30-year old left fielder . Hamilton contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Antelope Valley up, 4-2.
Salgado called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
With the win, Antelope Valley raised its record to 58-57.
