Hornets Make Raptors 5-1 Losers
|
Philadelphia starter James Ferguson put a stranglehold on the Antelope Valley offense. The right-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Hornets to a 5-1 win. Ferguson, now 11-8, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. With the win, Philadelphia pushed its record to 73-53.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for António Venet? The Philadelphia third baseman had a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hornets on top, 5-0. For the game, Venet had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"It feels good to get this one," Venet told the Philadelphia Daily News.
