Hornets Lose to Reapers, 5-2
|
The Chicago Reapers knocked off the Philadelphia Hornets, 5-2, at Old League Park. Adam Thompson, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Chicago won. The center fielder was 1 for 2 with a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The winner was Wesley Dutton in relief. His record improves to 3-1. James Ferguson took the loss. Alejandro Cruz notched his 20th save in 23 chances.
Thompson had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the seventh inning, when he hit a 2-run single. The Reapers went on to win.
Thompson attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The Reapers bumped their record to 76-71 with this latest triumph.
