Hammond in Cruise Control in 8-1 Win
Appalachian pitcher Eric Hammond did his part in helping his team beat the Antelope Valley Raptors, 8-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Raptors fall to 8-10 and continue their wobbly start to the 2035 season.

Hammond, a native of Elk Grove, California, was dealing all game. He kept Antelope Valley hitters off-balance, while giving the Black Bears 9 quality innings. Hammond threw 119 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 7.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Appalachian manager Jeff Fisher.
