Valera goes 4-for-5, Meerkats Move to 22-9
|
The Milwaukee Meerkats defeated the Houston Armadillos, 7-5, at Old League Park today. Leading the charge for Milwaukee was first baseman Héctor Valera. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Meerkats keep rolling, raising their record to 22-9.
Valera had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Fernando González, he banged a 2-run single to left, giving the Meerkats a 6-4 lead. It was the 32nd hit of the year for Valera.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Valera.
