González Helps Atlanta Cruise to 10-3 Win
|
Atlanta and New Orleans got after it at Old League Park.
Enrique González left his imprint on the 10-3 Atlanta win against the New Orleans Crawdaddy's. González, who is tied for 5th in the SDMB in bases on balls with 16, went 4-4 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 5. Juan Vélez earned the win for Atlanta. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 3 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 4-2.
The Hurricanes got a big at-bat from center fielder Petero Hokualohi. For the game, Hokualohi was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Atlanta a 2-0 lead.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Atlanta skipper Frank Ferrara.
