Monks Come Back Late to Clip Armadillos
|
The Mepkin Abbey Monks did just enough to sneak past the Houston Armadillos, 4-3, at Old League Park. Mepkin Abbey pitcher Josh Robertson earned player of the game honors. Mepkin Abbey's record now stands at 15-26, placing them last in the SDMB League Adams Division.
The Monks got a big at-bat from right fielder Juan Garza. For the game, Garza was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Mepkin Abbey a 3-2 lead.
