Rivera Puts Spell on Mepkin Abbey
It wasn't easy but the Philadelphia Hornets made it look that way.

Starter Víctor Rivera shut out the Mepkin Abbey Monks despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Philadelphia Hornets cruised to victory, 4-0. Rivera allowed only 4 hits and rang up 5 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

In 9 starts this season Rivera has recorded a 7-1 record and a 3.10 ERA.
