Raptors Prevail, 8-6, Over Mepkin Abbey
|
The Antelope Valley Raptors defeated the Mepkin Abbey Monks, 8-6, at Old League Park today. Leading the charge for Antelope Valley was first baseman Dave O'Brien. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Russ Singleton was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Jeffrey Metcalf closed the door for Antelope Valley, picking up his 17th save of the year.
The Raptors got a big at-bat from shortstop Millard Peterson. For the game, Peterson was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Antelope Valley a 6-3 lead.
