Reapers Shut Out Meerkats
|
The Chicago Reapers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Toyoshige Takahashi, who stifled the Milwaukee offense en route to a 3-0 Reapers win at Old League Park. Takahashi, now 5-4, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Chicago now has a 3-game win streak.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the third inning, but Takahashi was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Milwaukee trailing 1-0, Takahashi retired Héctor Valera, who struck out.
