Hurricanes Turn Back Milwaukee, 3-2
|
The Atlanta Hurricanes picked up a win at Old League Park, knocking off the Milwaukee Meerkats, 3-2. Starting pitcher Lawrence Floyd played a key role in the triumph. Patrick Beene got credit for the save for Atlanta. It was his 1st of the year. The Hurricanes, with only their 1st win in 7 games, have not had much to write home about in 2035.
The Hurricanes got a big at-bat from catcher Manny Murillo. For the game, Murillo was 1-3 with a walk. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Atlanta a 3-2 lead.
"I felt good up there," said Murillo. "I saw the ball well."
