Meerkats Need Extras to Top Black Bears
Old League Park was the site of a tense game between the Appalachian Black Bears and Milwaukee Meerkats.

The Milwaukee Meerkats took Appalachian pitcher William Brooks's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Old League Park. The final score had Milwaukee getting past the Black Bears, 3-2. Brooks went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 7. Milwaukee reliever Pat Carmichael picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Carlos Deleón was collared with the loss.

Júlio Quintana had a nice at-bat for the Meerkats with one out in the bottom of the tenth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the center fielder got hit by a pitch, which would prove important in the Milwaukee win.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Drake Olson, the Milwaukee skipper.

Appalachian's current losing streak is now 4 games.
