Brian Powell held the Brick Barracudas to 8 hits and fashioned a fine 3-0 shutout at Old League Park today.

Speaking after the game, Milwaukee Meerkats manager Joel Fried said "Powell had everything going for him today."

He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement," he said. "He was masterful."

Powell rung up 3 strikeouts and surrendered no walks in the game.

"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," Brick manager Fred Goldfarb told reporters.

In season stats Powell shows a 7-7 record in 15 games, 99.1 innings, 85 strikeouts and a 3.90 ERA.
