Barracudas Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The 7-4 Brick win over Milwaukee was due in large part to Tomás Fernández. The Barracudas left fielder went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Gabriel Allison, the winner, goes to 1-1. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts over 5 innings. Carlos Placeres was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
With Brick trailing 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Fernández hit a changeup from Brian Powell for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Barracudas ahead, 3-2.
"We've got a great group of guys," Fernández said, "and we're having fun right now."
The Barracudas keep rolling, raising their record to 6-3.
