Crawdaddy's Solve Wolves, 5-4
|
The New Orleans Crawdaddy's did just enough to sneak past the Brooklyn Wolves, 5-4, at Old League Park. New Orleans pitcher Shawn Henry earned player of the game honors. Henry picked up the win for New Orleans, going 6 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 2-4. Mark Richard, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities.
The Crawdaddy's got a big at-bat from left fielder Pedro Muńóz. For the game, Muńóz went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave New Orleans a 5-4 lead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Muńóz told the New Orleans Daily.
New Orleans goes to 43-39, Brooklyn to 41-42.
