Francis Goes Deep Twice in 8-4 Barracudas Win
|
Brick designated hitter Logan Francis contributed to his team's 8-4 win over the Toronto Beavers. Francis, who led the SDMB in wins above replacement with 6.6 last year, went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Barracudas. Javier Cruz came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 9-5. Carlos Placeres converted his 32nd save in 35 tries.
Elwood Kerr helped out the Brick cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Brick manager Fred Goldfarb.
The Barracudas lead the SDMB League Adams Division by 25 games.
