Black Bears Lose to Barracudas, 4-2
|
Brick pitcher Paul Gilbert did his part in helping his team beat the Appalachian Black Bears, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 7.1 innings, Gilbert surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The SDMB League Adams Division-leading Barracudas have a record of 84-59.
Brick grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Steve Lee delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Barracudas.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Brick manager Fred Goldfarb.
