Romero Shuts Out Mepkin Abbey
It wasn't easy but the Antelope Valley Raptors made it look that way.

Starter Guillermo Romero shut out the Mepkin Abbey Monks despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Antelope Valley Raptors cruised to victory, 4-0. Romero allowed only 4 hits and rang up 5 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

In 30 starts this year Romero has crafted a 11-15 record and a 4.00 ERA.
