Brick beat Wilmington at Old League Park, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Rodrigo Padilla, who earned player of the game honors. Carlos Placeres earned his 34th save in 36 chances. The Barracudas, at 96-53, have a comfortable 22½-game lead in their division.

António Venet made it 3-2, Brick, in the top of the eighth when he hit a sacrifice fly. It was a big at-bat in the Barracudas win.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Brick skipper Fred Goldfarb. "I can't complain."
