| Black Bears Win League Championship Friday, October 6th, 2034 The Appalachian Black Bears didn't hold back their excitement after beating the Brick Barracudas in the League Championship tonight.
Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 3-1 win moving the club on to the Cecil Cup, clinching a 4-2 series win in front of the Old League Park crowd.
"This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a Cecil Cup, so it's an important step," said Rick Chase as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on."
Chase was named series MVP, as he hit .385 with a .407 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 6 runs.
On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Barracudas sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Appalachian celebrate.
The Appalachian Black Bears don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Brooklyn Wolves - Philadelphia Hornets series. Philadelphia leads the series 3 games to 2. The Cecil Cup schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes.
