Breaking News | | Friday, May 15th, 2020: Porter Extends Hit Streak to 33 Games Northwood HS's 16-year-old catcher Mark Porter has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 33 games now. Today Porter extended the streak by going 2-5 against Sentinels pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Porter always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Jackals 9-6 triumph over Paradise HS at Field of the Jackals he downplayed his part in the victory. M. Porter hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 7th.
Thus far this year Porter is hitting .487 with 4 home runs, 36 RBIs and 38 runs scored. | | Thursday, May 14th, 2020: Porter Has 32-Game Hitting Streak Northwood HS catcher Mark Porter has extended his hitting streak to 32 straight games with a 1-for-4 day. However, Paradise HS got a 8-7 victory over the Jackals at Field of the Jackals. M. Porter struck out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
Porter is currently hitting at a .490 pace with 4 home runs, 34 RBIs and has scored 38 times. | | Wednesday, May 13th, 2020: Porter Boosts Hit Streak to 31 Games The Jackals 16-year-old catcher Mark Porter has been on a tear for several weeks and his hitting streak is getting longer. The streak is now at 31 games after he went 4-5 as Northwood HS got the best of Paradise HS 14-8 today at Field of the Jackals. M. Porter singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
