Monks Lose, 9-3, at Old League Park

The New Orleans Crawdaddy's topped the Mepkin Abbey Monks by the score of 9-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Jesús Valdéz. Valdéz was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Crawdaddy's on the day. Vicente Gallegos earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.
