Crawdaddy's Bridle Beavers, 3-2
|
New Orleans Crawdaddy's starter Stanley Wolf pitched a strong game against the Toronto Beavers at Old League Park, leading the Crawdaddy's to victory, 3-2. Wolf, now 2-9, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 11 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Wei-hong Tien was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 12 save opportunities.
In the bottom of the fourth, New Orleans right fielder Don Jones had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and one out, Jones stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 3-0, New Orleans. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"I was a little disappointed," said Toronto manager Jim Slade. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Crawdaddy's saw their win-loss record go to 26-34. At the same time, the Beavers fell to 16-44.
