The 8-5 Brick win over Wilmington was due largely to Jorge Rúbio. The Barracudas right fielder went 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Carlos Placeres got the save, his 33rd in 36 chances. With the victory, the Barracudas upped their record to 80-58.

Rúbio had a timely hit for Brick in the bottom of the eighth. With Wilmington trailing 5-4, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 8-5, Brick.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Rúbio told the Brick Citizen.
