Atlantics Rally For Late Win Over Meerkats
|
The Milwaukee Meerkats got a superb performance from pitcher José Aquino. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Wilmington. The Atlantics won the game, 6-3. Aquino threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. Leonard Christopher locked down his 1st save. With their winning streak at 5, the Atlantics have raced to a strong start this season.
Wilmington used the clutch hitting of Al Kirkpatrick to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Atlantics the lead, 5-1. For the game, Kirkpatrick had 1 single and 1 double in 3 at-bats.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Wilmington manager Thomas Kerner.
