Breaking News | | Tuesday, August 18th, 2020: 5-5 Day for Huff 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. Cincinnati's Dusty Huff had a very special day against the Fliers when everything came together for him and he did just that -- collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Cincinnati Juggernaut to a 9-2 win at Juggernaut Ballpark.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Huff said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
D. Huff singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Huff has hit at a .353 clip with 87 RBIs, 19 home runs and 94 runs scored. | | Saturday, August 15th, 2020: Taylor Spins Shutout Against Dayton Chris Taylor put a hex on Dayton in a sparkling 5-0 shutout performance, mesmerizing them on a 1-hit gem.
"I feel good physically," he said. "Everything's comfortable. You should pitch well when that's the case."
It was anything but comfortable for Dayton.
"Taylor used his changeup very well, very effectively," the opposing manager said. "He threw it in hitter's counts."
The Regina Monologues hurler fanned 8 and walked 4.
Checking out his stats for the season, Taylor has registered 19 wins and 10 losses in 40 starts, 3.12 ERA and struck out 249 batters in 224.2 innings. | | Monday, August 3rd, 2020: Young Guns Down Fliers He didn't put a spell on them. It wasn't black magic, it was just old-fashioned good pitching. That's how David Young of the Cincinnati Juggernaut blanked the Dayton Fliers 4-0.
After tossing a complete-game 2-hit shutout, he was all smiles, saying, "I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game. I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance."
His own skipper said, "He's at his best when he gets ahead of the hitters." Young walked 3 and struck out 3 in the victory.
The Fliers manager commented on their lack of success against him, saying, "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes."
So far in 21 starts this season, Young has recorded 10 wins and sustained 7 losses. He has pitched 126.2 innings, yielded 149 hits, fanned 66 and has a 6.11 ERA. | | Injuries | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | P Isidro Frau | torn labrum (Shoulder) | 4-5 weeks | Not on DL | | Team Information | Record overall | 36-94, .277 PCT | Position in Division | 6th, 47.0 GB | Record at home | 20-45, .308 PCT | Record on the road | 16-49, .246 PCT | Record in X-inning games | 3-7, .300 PCT | Record in one-run games | 14-15, .483 PCT | Record versus LHP | 5-19, .208 PCT | Record versus RHP | 31-75, .292 PCT | Record last 10 games | 4-6, .400 PCT | Record in April | 9-19, .321 PCT | Record in May | 10-19, .345 PCT | Record in June | 5-21, .192 PCT | Record in July | 7-21, .250 PCT | Record in August | 5-14, .263 PCT |
