Thursday, September 17th, 2020: Macaluso Befuddles Monck's Corner
Joseph Macaluso had the Monck's Corner Monks dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 7-0 shutout performance for the Danville Dans. He gave up 4 hits and collected 1 walk and 7 strikeouts.

Monck's Corner hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery.

The opposing manager said, "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point. We just never figured him out."

In 2020 Macaluso has compiled a 15-15 mark with a 3.80 ERA in 33 starts.

Thursday, September 10th, 2020: Hit Parade: Bañuelos Pops 5 Hits
5 hits in 6 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Ángel Bañuelos of the Maui Mashers had a sensational 5-6 game against Monck's Corner at Old League Park. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 15-3 shellacking of the Monks.

In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off... Right, skipper?"

Á. Bañuelos tripled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off G. Kos in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off J. Fullen in the 9th.

This season Bañuelos has hit at a .438 clip with 10 RBIs, 4 home runs and 20 runs scored. He has played in 24 games.

Thursday, September 10th, 2020: Bañuelos Collects Cycle
Maui's Ángel Bañuelos accomplished what few others have been able to do -- he hit for the cycle. In baseball, a player hits for the cycle when he hits a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game, though not necessarily in that order. Collecting the hits in that order is known as a "natural cycle."

For the day he finished 5-6 with 6 RBI and 4 runs scored and helped his Mashers knock off the Monck's Corner Monks 15-3 at Old League Park. In the postgame press conference he said, "I didn't even know I had hit for the cycle until after the game."
