| Breaking News |  | Monday, July 20th, 2020: Yippers Drewett Blanks Mammoths
It turns out that Brighton Beach's Martin Drewett needed little run support to beat Marietta today 8-0 at Chula Vista Grounds. In a solid outing Drewett recorded 6 strikeouts and 3 walks as he held the Mammoths to 5 hits and shut them out.
This year Drewett is 7-and-1 with no saves and a 2.33 ERA. He has given up 61 hits in 65.2 innings with 51 strikeouts.

| Monday, July 13th, 2020: Week's #1 Player Honored by SL1
Todd Dean is respected by most Marietta Mammoths fans for his no-frills style of play. The 21-year-old second baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Sub League 1 Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .433 average (13-30) with no home runs, 8 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
Dean is currently batting .271 with no home runs and 22 RBIs.

| Friday, July 3rd, 2020: Paul Carthy Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year
The season is finished for Paul Carthy of the Marietta Mammoths. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Mammoths reliever suffered a ruptured tricep tendon while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Brighton Beach Yippers. Team doctors said it would take at least 7 months to heal.
This season Carthy has no saves in 2 relief appearances with a 2-7 record and 4.48 ERA.
