Allen Sharp of the Brighton Beach Yippers proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Sub League 1 A Outstanding Hitter Award.
Sharp hit for a .324 average while collecting 152 hits, 20 doubles, 1 triple, 17 home runs, 78 RBIs and scoring 69 times.

| Monday, August 10th, 2020: SL1 Awards Player of the Week
His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Dave Bailey was rewarded with the Sub League 1 Player of the Week honors.
The scrappy Brighton Beach Yippers left fielder hit .500 while collecting 10 hits in 20 at-bats, no home runs and 7 RBIs.
In 2020 Bailey is hitting .310 with 48 hits, 2 home runs, 21 RBIs, .383 OBP and has scored 21 runs.

 | Saturday, August 1st, 2020: Franco Pitches Rocklands to Shutout Win
Everything clicked on the hill today for César Franco of the Nyack Rocklands as he hurled his club to a 6-0 shutout win over the Brighton Beach Yippers, limiting them to 5 hits while recording 5 strikeouts and yielding 1 walk. He overpowered some batters with his fastball and buckled knees with his sharp breaking pitches.
"We had our shot at him a couple of different times," the Yippers manager said, "but we weren't able to get to him."
To date in 2020, Franco has registered 24 starts, 13-7 won-lost mark, 3.48 ERA, 183.2 IP, 112 strikeouts and 62 walks. Opposing teams have hit .261 against him.
