| Breaking News | | Friday, October 9th, 2020: Mashers Triumph in 2020 Cecil Cup
It was a storybook year for the Maui Mashers as they closed out a 4-3 series win over the Seattle Monarchs to claim the 2020 Cecil Cup. They wrapped it up with a 5-1 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 2nd championship.
The Mashers manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes to win a Cecil Cup."
"We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the Monarchs manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us."
During the SDMB League Signorino Division regular season Maui put up a 100-62 record and finished first. |
 | Sunday, September 20th, 2020: Mashers Ottman Tames Brooklyn
Anibal Ottman of the Maui Mashers fashioned a fine 9-0 victory over the Brooklyn Wolves. He held them to 1 hit with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts in a strong outing.
This season Ottman has compiled a 14-11 mark, 4.26 ERA and made 35 starts.

 | Saturday, September 19th, 2020: Boreland Hitless, Stopped by Mashers
Ohio center fielder Zander Boreland was held hitless in today's game by the Maui Mashers, but the loss of his 20-game hitting streak was eased by the 6-4 Buckeyes victory at Old League Park.
This season Boreland is batting .356 with 211 hits, 43 home runs, 129 RBIs, .401 OBP and has scored 105 runs.
