| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, August 5th, 2020: Gómez at His Best, Blanks Kihei
A pitcher's main job is to keep the opposition off the scoreboard and Caprica pitcher Pedro Gómez did just that today in a 3-0 victory over the Kihei Keikis at Ballpark of Soldotna. He gave up no runs in his start, permitted 3 hits and had 4 strikeouts.
Checking out his stats for the season, Gómez has notched 11 wins and 7 losses in 17 starts, 3.37 ERA and struck out 35 batters in 128.1 innings.

Yue-jiu Ye took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Sub League 2 Pitcher of the Month award for July.
The 20-year-old Keikis starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 4-0 won-lost record in 4 starts. He has fanned 23 batters in 32 innings and sports a 1.13 ERA.
This season Ye has a 4-0 record with a 1.13 ERA in 4 starts.

| Saturday, August 1st, 2020: SL2 Announces Best Batter Award
Chad Weaver has a lot going for him. The Kihei catcher just broke into the majors this year and now the Sub League 2 has just picked him as its top hitter for July.
In 25 games last month, this outstanding rookie batted .359 with 4 home runs, 25 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
Looking at his 2020 season stats, Weaver has compiled a .309 batting average in 96 games with a .392 on-base percentage, while hitting 16 home runs and driving in 83 runs.
