A pitcher's main job is to keep the opposition off the scoreboard and Caprica pitcher Pedro Gómez did just that today in a 3-0 victory over the Kihei Keikis at Ballpark of Soldotna. He gave up no runs in his start, permitted 3 hits and had 4 strikeouts.
Checking out his stats for the season, Gómez has notched 11 wins and 7 losses in 17 starts, 3.37 ERA and struck out 35 batters in 128.1 innings.

| Monday, August 3rd, 2020: Andrés's Strong Week Earns SL2 Trophy
22-year-old Alberto Andrés made a few Caprica headlines during this past week as the rookie shortstop proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Sub League 2 officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 12 hits in 27 at-bats to put up a .444 average. Andrés collected 1 home run, 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
This year Andrés has hit at a .236 clip with 89 hits, 2 home runs, 33 RBIs and 33 runs scored.

| Friday, July 31st, 2020: Caprica Whitewashes Avon, Mobley Winner
In an outstanding outing, Bill Mobley tamed Avon on a 2-hit shutout. The Caprica hurler went the distance, finishing with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk in the 1-0 win.
"He had a lot of first pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to the Avon manager. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
So far this year Mobley has compiled a 1-10 record with a 4.37 ERA.
