There's something about a young rookie winning the Sub League 2 Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Dave Young, a 24-year-old starter for the Springfield Rifles.
In June, he topped off the month with a 4-2 mark and 1.34 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 47 innings, fanned 47 and held opposing teams to a .200 average.
Looking at his season stats, Young has won 9 and lost 8, collecting 137 strikeouts and 37 walks in 142.2 innings with a 3.03 ERA.
