Ohio center fielder Zander Boreland was held hitless in today's game by the Maui Mashers, but the loss of his 20-game hitting streak was eased by the 6-4 Buckeyes victory at Old League Park.
This season Boreland is batting .356 with 211 hits, 43 home runs, 129 RBIs, .401 OBP and has scored 105 runs.

Buckeyes center fielder Zander Boreland is really on a roll. In today's game at Old League Park he came up with 1 hit in 4 at-bats and extended his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. But the Maui Mashers came up winners on the scoreboard and topped Ohio 4-3.
Z. Boreland flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and struck out in the 7th.
In his stats this season, Boreland has posted a batting average of .358 with 211 hits in 590 at-bats, 43 home runs and 129 RBIs. He has also scored 104 runs, walked 44 times and compiled a .402 OBP.

In an almost effortless performance, Qing-hua Tso of the Buckeyes shot down the Wolves 2-0 on a 4-hit shutout.
His skipper said, "Qing-hua was just locating so well and using his pitches... not leaving anything over the plate."
Tso recorded 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.
In the postgame press conference, the Brooklyn manager said, "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game like he can and we couldn't get a key hit off him."
To date this year Tso has won 12 and lost 9 with a 3.55 ERA, no saves and 117 strikeouts in no relief appearances.
